What is Music Therapy?

Music therapy is the clinical and evidence-based use of music interventions to accomplish individualized goals, empower success, as well as improve and maintain a persons or communities wellbeing at any stage of life. Music therapy sessions seek to provide an outlet for participation in meaningful music experiences and to create a safe space for self-expression, communication and socialization through the power of music.

Physical Distance ≠ Social Distance

As everyone learns to adapt to the drastic changes we are currently facing, it is during this time of physical distancing that we must keep our most vulnerable population engaged and connected socially, mentally and emotionally.
Magnolia Melodies is here to greet you virtually through an online platform of your choice, to aid in the efforts of providing your residents with a sense of normalcy and community.

Your virtual music therapy sessions will include our ever popular “Hello” and “Goodbye” songs, some type of gross motor and stretching activity and lots of singing and reminiscing.

Magnolia Melodies is here to support you in providing crucial interaction between your residents and the instant trigger of memories, smiles, movement and much more! Let me know how I can best meet the needs of your community and I will be happy to adapt in any way that I can. If you want to know more about how Virtual Music Therapy sessions can benefit your community, please contact me below.
